Psychologist – Adult Mental Health – Therapy your way, backed by a great team!

Shape Your Career in a Thriving Private Practice

The autonomy of private practice. The support of a team that has your back.

Psychologist – Adult Mental Health
Permanent Part-Time | 3–4 Days
Campbelltown & Moorebank | Hybrid
$120,000–$130,000 FTE + super, pro rata based on experience & competence

Thinking About Private Practice? You Don't Have to Figure It Out Alone.

Perhaps you've spent the past few years developing your skills in government, community mental health, a hospital, occupational rehabilitation or another structured setting—and you're wondering whether private practice could be your next step.

You want more autonomy, flexibility and variety, but you don't want to give up the security, supervision and team connection you're used to.

That's where Lighthouse is different.

We're looking for a warm, capable and curious registered psychologist who has solid clinical foundations and wants somewhere they can continue to grow.

We welcome generally registered psychologists, clinical psychologists and clinical psychology registrars. Around five years' experience would be ideal, but we're more interested in your capability, curiosity and fit with our team than an exact number of years.

And if you're new to private practice? We won't throw you in the deep end.

Why Lighthouse?

We've been established for 11 years, continue to grow, and have a strong referral network providing consistent clinical work.

This is a permanent role within a team of approximately 24 clinicians and 6 administration staff. We're particularly proud of our staff retention—with some team members celebrating 10 years with Lighthouse this year.

You'll also receive:

  • $120,000–$130,000 FTE + super, pro rata

  • Professional training allowance

  • Professional indemnity insurance reimbursement

  • Individual and group clinical supervision within your duties

  • Thorough, structured onboarding

  • Full administration support

  • AI medical scribe and AI-supported workflows

  • Laptop, Microsoft Office, professional email and remote access

  • Hybrid work opportunities

  • Annual team-building day

  • A genuinely fabulous Christmas party

What Will Your Week Look Like?

Your focus will be providing high-quality psychological therapy to adults across a diverse range of presentations.

You'll work across Campbelltown and Moorebank, seeing clients face-to-face and via telehealth, with referrals across Medicare, SIRA and NDIS.

You'll formulate and deliver evidence-based treatment, collaborate with GPs and other health professionals, complete clinical documentation and participate in supervision and case consultation.

Our preferred hours are around 10am–6pm, but there's flexibility. Start earlier, finish earlier or arrange your clients differently across the day—we want you to build a calendar that is sustainable and workable for you.

You'll have autonomy, without working in isolation.

We Set You Up to Thrive

Moving into private practice involves learning new systems, funding streams and ways of working. We don't expect you to arrive knowing all of them.

Our onboarding is structured and thorough, with time to learn our systems, processes, clinical expectations and workflows before finding your rhythm.

Your existing skills are transferable. We'll help you bridge the gap into private practice.

You'll also have access to experienced clinicians, senior psychologists, our Clinical Director, Practice Manager and administration team when you need support.

Keep Growing

We're big on professional development and practical clinical learning.

Training opportunities may include things like:

  • Clinical and psychometric assessment

  • Comprehensive risk assessment

  • DBT and group facilitation

  • Schema Therapy

  • Case formulation and complex presentations

And if you're interested in progressing your career, future opportunities may include supervising provisional psychologists, facilitating group supervision, leading DBT groups, providing clinical training or stepping into a Clinical Lead role.

There's room to grow—but no expectation that you need to want all of that now.

The Lighthouse Culture

We're serious about clinical care, but considerably less serious about ourselves.

We're a fun, creative, supportive and down-to-earth team. There's laughter, collaboration, plenty of shared problem-solving and the occasional bit of black humour that probably only mental health professionals understand.

We value Respect, Accountability, Growth, Connection, Courage and Excellence and want people who care about doing excellent work while also being human.

Could This Be You?

You'll need:

  • Full AHPRA registration as a Psychologist

  • General registration, clinical endorsement or clinical registrar status

  • Medicare registered (we can kick this off with you)

  • SIRA eligibility (we can support your training here)

  • Experience working therapeutically with adults

  • Sound evidence-based practice and formulation skills

  • Warmth, professionalism and emotional maturity

  • A reflective approach and openness to feedback and supervision

  • A genuine desire to be part of a collaborative team

New to private practice? Please don't let that stop you applying.

It's a friendly conversation, not an interrogation. We want to understand what you bring, where you'd like to grow and whether Lighthouse feels right for you too.
