The NT Police Force focuses on proactive policing to reduce crime and keeping Territorians and their property safe and secure.

As an experienced Psychologist / Social Worker (P3) you form part of a dedicated team of professionals delivering integrated statutory and non-statutory welfare services, ensuring evidence-based wellbeing support is available to members of the Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency community across the Territory. Participating in a 24/7 wellbeing response framework you will provide specialist advice on psychosocial risk, behavioural concerns, welfare issues and deliver training on psychoeducation and mental health promotion relevant to a first-responder workforce. 

To be successful, you require a Bachelor of Social Work or Psychology and be eligible for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), Australian Psychological Society (APS) or Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). A strong understanding of the principles and functions of working in first-responder or domestic and family violence context, supported by demonstrated experience delivering psychosocial assessments, therapeutic intervention and the case management of individuals experience trauma, mental health concerns or complex social issues. In addition, you will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, family and community structures, with the ability to communicate and work in a culturally safe manner.
