Child Psychologist and Child/Teen Psychologist at Manly Minds

 

Manly Minds is a thoughtfully designed clinic in the heart of beautiful Manly, created to meet the growing need for high-quality psychological services for children, teens, couples and families. 

At Manly Minds, we approach psychological care through a developmental and relational lens. We understand children and adolescents in the context of their brain development, emotional systems, and family environment, and tailor our work accordingly. Our clinicians integrate evidence-based approaches including CBT, ACT, DBT, Schema Therapy, Brain Training, Play-Therapy and Family Systems frameworks to support emotional regulation, resilience and growth. We view parents as central to the process and value a collaborative, family-inclusive approach wherever possible, recognising that lasting change occurs within the systems young people are part of.

We are looking passionate psychologists who embody our values and treatment apporach, to join our team.

 

Two Positions Available

1) Child Psychologist

Experienced and passionate about working with young children and their families, including parents. Willingness to collaborate with schools and other supports, as necessary. 

Primary client base: Children aged 5–12 years

 

2) Older Child / Teen Psychologist

Experienced and passionate about working with older children, teenagers, parents and families.

Primary client base: Children 12 years to young adults

 

Who Would Be a Good Fit

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is warm, engaging and able to build strong therapeutic relationships
  • Works in an evidence-based, developmentally informed way
  • Feels comfortable working within a family-inclusive model, and values collaboration with parents where appropriate
  • Enjoys working systemically, including with schools and other supports
  • Is reflective, thoughtful, and committed to high-quality clinical work
  • Is interested in contributing to a growing, values-driven local practice.

Essential Requirements 

  • Master’s or Doctorate in Psychology
  • Full registration with AHPRA
  • Eligibility for a Medicare provider number
  • Experience working with children, adolescents and/or families
  • Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain)
  • Eligibility for an ABN and professional indemnity insurance (for contractor roles)

 

Highly Regarded

  • Clinical Psychology endorsement (or working towards endorsement)
  • Experience in family therapy, parent work, or relationship-based models
  • Experience with neurodiversity, anxiety, emotional regulation, or behavioural concerns
  • Interest or training in play-based or developmentally appropriate approaches

 

Role Details 

  • Flexible arrangement (minimum 2 days per week, with opportunity to grow)
  • Contractor or employment options open for discussion for the right candidate
