The College Counsellor is a key member of the Student Support Team and provides individual counselling to students apart from assisting in the College’s (P-12) wellbeing support, initiatives and programs. The role provides clinical assessment, counselling and facilitates referrals with a range of external stakeholders to support students, their families and staff. The position is for 7.6 hours per day, 5 days per week, 40 weeks per annum with a 4 weeks annual leave .
The successful applicant should have:
- • A degree in Psychology, Counselling, or Social Work (desirable)
- • Provisional or full registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) OR
- • Maintain registration and/or membership with at least one relevant professional association, such as ACA, APACS and APACS NSW or PACFA OR
- • Have an ACA Level 01 membership which requires completion of an ACA-accredited Diploma of Counselling or an equivalent qualification, along with CPD, clinical supervision and adherence to ethical standards.
- • Previous experience in school counselling (including writing and reporting)
- • Knowledge of and a deep commitment to child safety in an education setting.
- • Current Working with Children Check.
- • Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including teachers, staff, parents, and external agencies.
- • First Aid certificate.
