About the
role
The Child
and Adolescent Mental Health Service Advanced Forensic Psychologist provides
expert forensic clinical expertise for children, adolescents and their families
with mental health issues in the youth justice system.
Key duties
of the role
- Deliver
advanced expert clinical service to the child and adolescent mental health
population involved with the justice youth system.
- Assume a
clinical/professional leadership role within team, undertaking
professional supervision of psychology staff.
- Work with a
multidisciplinary and interagency team on service delivery development,
and practice requirements to meet client needs and demands.
It will
undertake Section 269 Reports for the SA Youth Court in liaison with the
Consultant Psychiatrist.
It delivers
advanced clinical services to the child and adolescent population with harmful
sexualized behaviour/sexual offending.
Skills and
Experience
- Must hold an
appropriate postgraduate degree in Psychology (Forensic/Clinical) or
equivalent qualification recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Must hold
registration and endorsement as a Forensic, Clinical or Health
Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Must hold
approved supervisor status with the Psychology Board of Australia at all
levels of supervision (Psychology Registrars and Provisional
Psychologists).
