Position Summary

The Head of Psychological Services at Ruyton is responsible for leading a team of psychologists who work across Early Learning, Junior and Senior School, to support the wellbeing of students. This is achieved through the provision of one-to-one counselling services, as well as developing and delivering intervention and prevention programs in partnership with Ruyton academic staff with Wellbeing responsibilities.

This is a permanent 0.6–0.8 FTE position commencing in Term 1, 2026, unless otherwise negotiated. The role is term-time only and includes additional bonus and wellbeing days.

The successful applicant will  

  • Hold relevant tertiary qualifications including a Masters or Doctorate in Educational and Developmental or Clinical Psychology.
  • Have full Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).
  • Have experience in providing counselling services to children and adolescents, ideally in a school-based setting.
  • Have relevant experience in counselling around a range of mental health issues, as well as school and behavioural issues.
  • Effectively liaise with staff and parents on strategies for students in need, ensuring the best care is provided.
