health teams?
The Community Forensic Outreach Service, part of the broader Community Forensic
Mental Health Service, is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Clinician
to join its Therapy Service. This is a rare opportunity to work at the
intersection of mental health and public safety, delivering high-impact therapy
and consultation services across North Queensland.
About
the Role
As a
Senior Clinician you will:
- Deliver
formulation-driven therapy and evidence-based psychological interventions
- Conduct
complex forensic assessments and provide responsive, person-centred
therapies
- Collaborate
with multidisciplinary treating teams across Townsville, North West QLD,
and Mackay to support continuity of care
- Provide
consultation-liaison services to Hospital and Health Services
- Mentor
and supervise less experienced clinicians
- Lead
training and capacity-building initiatives across mental health teams

Essential Requirements
- Four-year Psychology degree (Honours or
Graduate Diploma) and registration with AHPRA
- Class C Driver’s Licence
- Willingness to travel across Townsville,
North West, and Mackay regions, including occasional overnight stays and
travel via small aircraft or ferry
Highly
Regarded
- Postgraduate
qualifications in Clinical Psychology (Masters or Doctorate), or
significant progress toward completion
- Experience
in forensic mental health or working with complex clinical presentations
