Psychologist / Clinical Psychologist

NLC Psychology | Magill / Malvern / Telehealth | Employed position

NLC Psychology is looking for a registered Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist to join our small, values-led team.

This is an employed position with flexibility to work from our Magill or Malvern consulting rooms, via Telehealth, or a combination of both. We are open to discussing part-time or full-time hours based on your experience, clinical interests and circumstances.

NLC Psychology provides thoughtful, person-centred and neuroaffirming care to people whose presentations can be complex and who may not always feel well served by traditional approaches to healthcare.

We have particular experience working with chronic pain, chronic illness, fatigue, hypermobility, dysautonomia, endometriosis and neurodivergence. Experience in these areas is highly regarded, but you do not need to be an expert across all of them. We are also interested in hearing from psychologists earlier in their careers who have a genuine interest in these client groups and are keen to develop their skills.

Why work at NLC Psychology?

An employed role without the burden of running a private practice

You can focus on your clinical work without needing to build your own referral network or manage the administrative demands of private practice.

NLC has an established referral network and dedicated administrative support. Our admin team manages client enquiries, bookings and scheduling, waitlist management and triage, payments, cancellations and calendar changes.

A caseload aligned with your interests

You will have the opportunity to develop a caseload that reflects your experience and clinical interests. You do not need to work across all of NLC's areas of practice.

Genuine multidisciplinary collaboration

NLC Psychology operates within a larger allied-health practice alongside physiotherapists, exercise physiologists and podiatrists. The broader practice shares our emphasis on person-centred care and collaborative support.

You will have the autonomy to practise as a psychologist while being part of a genuinely multidisciplinary environment.

Supervision and professional development

I provide supervision and value having a space where psychologists can discuss clinical uncertainty, complex presentations, ethical questions, treatment planning and professional development.

We support ongoing learning and encourage psychologists to develop areas of particular clinical interest and expertise.

A small, connected team

NLC Psychology is intentionally a small practice. We want it to be a place where psychologists can ask questions, discuss clinical work, share ideas and learn from one another, while maintaining autonomy over their clinical practice.

Sustainable clinical work

I don't believe that good psychological practice requires psychologists to run themselves into the ground. We aim to create sustainable roles that allow psychologists to do meaningful clinical work while maintaining a healthy and realistic approach to workload and life outside work.

About you

You may be a good fit for NLC Psychology if you:

  • are a registered General or Clinical Psychologist
  • enjoy working with complexity and presentations that don't always fit neatly into one diagnostic category
  • have an interest in chronic health conditions, neurodivergence or related areas
  • value neuroaffirming, person-centred and trauma-aware practice
  • are curious and reflective about your clinical work
  • value genuine therapeutic connection
  • enjoy continuing to learn and develop your clinical skills
  • value clinical autonomy while also enjoying being part of a team
  • are interested in developing a particular area of clinical expertise.

Experience across all of NLC Psychology's areas of practice is not required. We are more interested in finding someone who is thoughtful, curious, reflective and genuinely interested in the people they work with.

What we offer

  • Employed position with flexibility around hours and workload
  • Work from Magill, Malvern, Telehealth, or a combination
  • Established referral network
  • Dedicated administrative support
  • Ongoing marketing support
  • Clinical supervision
  • Professional development opportunities
  • A collaborative multidisciplinary allied-health environment
  • Opportunity to develop your own clinical interests and areas of expertise
  • A supportive, neuroaffirming and values-led practice
  • A focus on sustainable clinical work.

Location and hours

The role is based at our Magill and/or Malvern consulting rooms and via Telehealth. We can discuss the balance of in-person and Telehealth work, as well as part-time or full-time hours, according to your experience, clinical interests and circumstances.

Interested?

If you are looking for a practice where you can do meaningful clinical work, develop your interests and be part of a collaborative allied-health environment without having to build and manage an entire private practice yourself, we'd love to hear from you.

If you're unsure whether your experience is quite what we're looking for, we still encourage you to get in touch. We're happy to have a conversation about whether NLC Psychology could be a good fit for you.

To apply: Please submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your clinical experience, areas of interest and why NLC Psychology appeals to you.
