Perinatal Acute Mental Health Hospital in the Home (PAMH-HITH)

The Perinatal Acute Mental Health Hospital in The Home program (PAMH-HITH) is a virtual bed admission program designed to deliver time-limited, intensive multi-disciplinary treatment for women and birthing people experiencing moderate to severe perinatal mental illness during pregnancy or within the first 12 months following birth.  Consumers received hospital-equivalent care in their home environment rather than within a traditional inpatient unit or Mother and Baby Unit (MBU) in order to receive intensive care whilst remaining with their infant/s, their family and cultural environment, and connected to community and social supports.
