About the Role
 
Brisbane Girls Grammar School is seeking an experienced School Psychologist to join our Student Care team on a full-time, six-month contract.
 
Reporting to the Associate Dean (Wellbeing), the School Psychologist plays an important role in supporting the emotional wellbeing, personal development and educational success of students.
 
Working as part of a collaborative team, the School Psychologist will provide professional psychological support, assessment, consultation and intervention to students. 
 
The role will include:
 
  • Providing psychological support to students experiencing personal, emotional, social or academic challenges
  • Conducting psychological assessments, developing appropriate interventions and supporting student case management
  • Supporting students with a range of mental health and wellbeing needs, including risk assessment, crisis support and referral pathways
  • Collaborating with the Student Care team, Heads of House, teachers, senior leaders and external health professionals
  • Providing advice to support inclusive educational practices, including Individual Learning Plans, Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments
  • Contributing to student wellbeing initiatives, psychoeducation programs and presentations for students, staff and parents
  • Promoting a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

About You
 
You are an experienced psychologist who is passionate about supporting young people and contributing to a proactive, student-centred approach to wellbeing.
 
You will bring:
 
  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated experience providing psychological services to children and adolescents.
  • Experience in psychological assessment, intervention and case management.
  • A sound understanding of adolescent development, mental health and wellbeing.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with students, families and colleagues.
  • The ability to manage confidential and sensitive matters with professionalism, integrity and discretion.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively within a small specialist team.

 
Experience working within a school environment, particularly supporting adolescent girls, will be highly regarded.
