LGBTQIA+ Affirming Psychologist

We're seeking a General Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist to join our Fitzroy team!

The Identity Clinic is a proudly LGBTQIA+ exclusive, neuroaffirming and trauma-informed mental health service. Founded and run by queer, neurodivergent clinicians, we exist to close the gap in truly affirming care for our community. With a growing presence across the east coast and a new clinic in Carlton, we are passionate about delivering high-quality, best-practice mental health support to LGBTQIA+ folks across the lifespan.

We are values-driven and grounded in community, lived experience, and systemic change. Our team is diverse, collaborative, and deeply invested in creating a workplace that is safe, inclusive, and genuinely enjoyable to be part of. We have strong community and referrer networks and are steadily expanding our service offerings.

What we're looking for

  • Registered Psychologists (General or Clinical)

  • Strong clinical confidence and a reflective, client-centred approach

  • Alignment with LGBTQIA+ affirming, neuroaffirming, and trauma-informed practice

  • Experience working with autistic, ADHD, and otherwise neurodivergent clients is highly valued

  • Experience supporting queer, trans and gender diverse communities is highly regarded

  • Skills or interest in comprehensive therapeutic modalities beyond CBT/ACT, such as:

    • Schema Therapy

    • DBT

    • EMDR

    • CAT

    • Or other integrative/complex trauma approaches

  • Experience working with trauma and complex presentations will be highly regarded

This is an employment role. Unfortunately, this position is not open to psychologists with provisional registration.
