About the
role
Fixed term
temporary full time opportunity to provide clinical practice and professional
supervision to less experienced Psychologists to ensure the maintenance of
professional clinical standards within the service. Within a case coordination
model, the position delivers high-level and high-quality, evidence based
clinical psychology services to adolescents (aged 14-17 years inclusive) with
severe and complex mental health disorders requiring hospital-based assessment
and treatment.
About you
Our ideal
candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities
in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Apply high level professional judgement and
decision making to resolve a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical
practice based on valid and reliable clinical evidence with minimal direct
clinical practice supervision.
- As a member of the multidisciplinary team, deliver
contemporary high-level case management and clinical psychology services
that is based on valid and reliable evidence, is in accordance with
prescribed professional and ethical standards, and performed with a high
degree of independence.
- Provide and complete evidence based psychological
assessments (including the use of specialised psychological measures such
as self-report rating scales, personality inventories, intellectual and
neuropsychological assessment) to assist with diagnosis, formulation and
treatment. This includes the interpretation of test results and the
provision of written reports to inform treatment and guide
referrals.
- Provision of high-level assessment, treatment, risk
management, case co-ordination and discharge facilitation to adolescents
and their families/carers who present to an acute inpatient service due to
severe and complex mental health problems.
