The Department of Justice and Community Safety is responsible for the statutory supervision of young people in the criminal justice system.
Rehabilitation and Outcomes is a specialist team at each Youth Justice Precinct that provides young people with services to support their rehabilitation, manage complex behaviours in custody and support their reintegration into the community.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Rehabilitation and Outcomes, the Clinical Manager oversees a team of Statewide Rehabilitation Services Clinicians, Senior Clinicians, Practice Leads, Behaviour Support Specialists and Restorative Practitioners to support young people with rehabilitation, manage complex behaviours in custody and support their reintegration into the community. They are accountable for all aspects of the delivery of rehabilitation services and manages performance, meeting service targets, resources, quality assurance and staffing within an allocated budget.
Travel across the Youth Justice Precincts and community offices is needed to respond to operational requirements.
The opportunity
- 2 full time ongoing positions, one based at Parkville Youth Justice Precinct & one at Cherry Creek Youth Justice Precinct.
- VPS Grade 6.1 role, earning $138,631 - $162,076 per year plus super.
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team delivering rehabilitation services to support the management of young peoples' behaviour in custody and reintegration into the community, maintaining the integrity and quality of services
- Manage all operational, clinical service delivery, people management and business service aspects within the Rehabilitation and Outcomes team including the recording, reporting, and monitoring of key performance indicators.
- Provide strategic oversight and expertise on clinical operations, maintaining a continuous workflow and ensuring adequate allocation of resources to meet the needs of each young person
- Identify emerging issues and provide advice to the Senior Manager and stakeholders to deliver effective rehabilitative interventions and behaviour management strategies for young people.
To be successful in this role, you will have experience leading and effectively managing a multidisciplinary team of professionals to deliver services within a complex service system as well as an understanding of the key issues impacting Youth Justice. Expertise in the delivery of criminogenic and non-criminogenic programs is also desirable.
Qualifications required:
- General registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- A current employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card is required and will need to be provided prior to commencement of employment by the applicant. Currency will need to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment
- A current driver's licence is required due to the need to work across different locations.
