Marriage/relationship therapist AND/OR Clinical Psychologist OR Clin Psych Reg

OGI Potential is a private Psychology clinic operating from Deception Bay just north of the Brisbane metropolitan area.  The clinic enjoys ongoing relationships with GPs in surrounding areas and we are currently expanding our practice with the aim to open a brand-new clinic in the coming months.  Our clinical and administrative group is close knit and supportive and we are searching for a motivated individual to join our team.

Our mission is to provide high quality psychological care to clients from all walks of life.  Enhancing the individuals’ personal strengths, resilience and quality of life through tailored counselling that meets the unique needs of the client’s concerns.  We are a mixed fee service with charges commensurate with the client’s current financial position.

The clinic focusses in two areas of expert interest: those being marriage therapy/relationship counselling and Clinical Psychology-oriented interventions for circumscribed mental health disorders.

Clinical Psychology Registrars will be supported with heavily subsidised weekly supervision to achieve Clinical College membership (see details below) and generalist psychologists will also have access to no cost supervision to meet their requirements for ongoing registration in line with AHPRA’s guidelines.  The permanent contracted position is for three days per week (Initially for two days per week – increasing to three days as we build your case load.  More days may be available according to client demand after this point).  The position includes an initial three-month salaried probationary period ($90k pro rata, plus holiday, superannuation and sick leave for Generalists and Clinical Psychology Registrars, or $105k pro rata for Clinical Psychologists), which enables the successful applicant to enjoy a consistent income as they develop a full client case load.

Registrar supervision: As there can be significant costs involved for Clinical Psychology Registrar's to achieve full registration as a Clinical Psychologist (typically in the realm of $15,000 to $20,000 depending on the hourly rate charged by the supervisor), the Principal Clinical Psychologist provides a program to registration that is FREE.

Core position responsibilities:

Conduct diagnostic interviews and provide therapy under Better Access, NDIS and Veterans Affairs provisions.

Develop tailored formulations of case requirements and utilise evidenced based therapeutic approaches (e.g., Interpersonal Therapy for grief, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy for depression).

Utilise psychosocial measures at pre, mid and post therapy intervals to confirm the utility of interventions.

Produce timely, brief clinical letters/reports for referring General Practitioners (or other referring agents).  Maintain accurate clinical documentation.

Ability to work with clients who present with a broad range of issues (e.g., depression, grief, relationship concerns etc).

Essential Criteria:

Full Psychologist registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).  Applicants without full registration cannot be considered for this position.

Engagement in ongoing professional development to meet the registration requirements of AHPRA.

‘Team player’ essential.  The successful candidate will be willing to follow Service Delivery Guidelines for day to day administrative tasks in addition to their clinical work.

Highly regarded:

Clinical psychology registrars.

Two years or more clinical experience post full registration.

Master or Doctorate of Clinical Psychology.

Current endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA.

Psychologists with a clinical area of interest in relationship counselling.

Psychologists with a willingness to work with children between the ages of 5 to 18.
