Play a lead role in a team dedicated to helping young offenders successfully reintegrate back into the community.
Territory Families’ Specialised Assessment and Treatment Services team provides high quality assessment and targeted intervention to address and support behaviour change in young people in detention.
As a Senior Clinician – Team Leader you play a lead role in conducting comprehensive criminogenic risk and needs assessments, undertaking and supervising the delivery of criminogenic needs programs, interventions and other psychological services for young people within youth justice facilities and the community in the Northern Territory. You provide input and support to Territory Families and other agency case management providers, treatment plans, court and parole board reports as required.
In your role, you get to work alongside various teams in community, custodial and home-based settings and assist the Principal Psychologist develop, deliver and evaluate treatment programs for young people, as well as providing peer consultation, training and professional support to your colleagues.
To be successfully, you need a degree qualification in Social Work or Psychology, eligibility for membership of an appropriate registration board or professional body, extensive experience in formulating assessment and interventions, and the ability to deal with complex social and emotional situations within a youth justice or related setting.
