The National Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Helpline provides telephone counselling, risk assessment and support for families across Australia. We are seeking passionate and skilled counsellors committed to the emotional and psychological wellbeing of expecting and new parents to join our National Helpline (Telephone) counselling team based in North Fitzroy, Melbourne on a part time and casual basis.
Perinatal Anxiety & Depression are common and serious mental health concerns. Left untreated, the impact can be devastating for individuals, infants and families. The National Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Helpline provides a space for parents struggling with the transition to parenthood or experiencing acute mental health crisis (and anything in between) to access free telephone counselling, information, support, risk management and referrals.
If you want to make a difference and have the skills to provide support and counselling in a perinatal mental health context, we encourage you to apply to join our counselling team. We are looking for passionate and experienced counsellors with qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy. This role involves regular daytime and afternoon shifts Monday – Friday, between 9.00am - 8.00pm, shifts are based on a fixed roster and operational requirements.
