We offer an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer, Medical Education / Student Support and Professional Practice ($94,056 - $131,287) to join our world-leading institution at James Cook University (JCU).   A continuing appointment, this position is based at our state-of-the-art facilities at JCU Townsville.


What you can accomplish in the Role

Working as an active member of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide academic support for students in the Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program.  Taking a lead role in the development and delivery of major components of the Professionalism curriculum of the MBBS you will liaise closely with a range of stakeholders to ensure appropriate student support and learning outcomes are delivered, student engagement is enhanced and lifelong learning, professionalism and self-care is encouraged.


What you will bring to the Role

With a postgraduate qualification in psychology, counselling, social work or other health related field you will have extensive experience in university student affairs, student services, counselling or professional academic advising.  Your excellent communication skills with experience in relating to a range of stakeholders, including those from diverse social and cultural backgrounds will ensure students receive relevant academic advice and will see you make a real difference to the wellbeing of our students.
