Interested in work in private psychology practice in Melbourne (and/or regional Victoria), don't know where to start?

Want a vibrant professional setting as well as support & guidance? This is an opportunity to join an established Psychology practice.

The Director, Dr Simon Kennedy, has been a Clinical & Forensic Psychologist in Melbourne for 35 years. Positions are available for psychologistsas independent practitioners on a part time/sessional basis, in a contractor model. The practice undertakes psychological assessments, such as psycho-legal assessments.

Psycho-Legal Assessments

Clinicians undertake assessments in:


Family Law

Child Protection

Criminal Law

Civil / Compensation

Victims of Crime, etc  


Other assessment areas e.g. children’s cognitive assessments, neuropsychological assessments, Juvenile Justice, NDIS, are also available.


Our premises are newly renovated and offer reception/waiting rooms, 8 consulting rooms including group/family/assessment rooms, with security & video review. Clinical resources, referral of clients/cases, quoting on cases, arrangement of assessments, full reception/billing services and administrative assistance is included in the arrangement. Country services and offices are available. Clinical guidance and case conference will be provided. Supervision (including for APS Clinical College/Forensic College membership) can be negotiated. Type of assessments, sessions and days are negotiable. Flexibility in report writing.



-Psychologists with Masters or Doctoral Level training (various areas) are encouraged to apply

-Clinicians with Clinical / Forensic / Neuropsychology / Ed-Dev training

-Commitment to high quality, ethical psychological assessments

-Sound administrative skills, report writing, time management and clinical skills

-Ability to commit to offering services on a regular basis

-Experienced in working with a range of mental health disorders and clientele

-Able to work independently and autonomously, but also cooperatively

-An interest in court processes

-Experience in use of psychological instruments in assessment

-Currently have, or willing and eligible to obtain an ABN and Professional Indemnity Insurance

-Registration/membership with PBA and APS

-Previous experience in the area is desirable, experience in report writing is essential 

-Some travel to/from regional/outer metro areas may be involved for some assessments

-Outer metro/country clinicians interested may wish to apply
