About Monash Health
Monash Health is an impressive organisation of seven public hospitals, 21 community health sites, five aged care facilities, university affiliated international research and tertiary education. We provide healthcare for the entire lifespan from pre-birth to palliative care and all stages in between, and we have recently opened the new 230-bed Monash Children’s Hospital.
The Dandenong Community Mobile Support Team is a Monash Health public community service, catering for referred adults with a diagnosed psychiatric illness or disorder, within its catchment area, the Greater Dandenong area. Clients are referred through the Psychiatric Triage Service and are received from various sources including acute inpatient services, General Practitioners, Private Psychiatrists, families, carer’s and other community representatives or agencies. . This position is based at the Dandenong Community Services Building, within the Community, Access and Partnerships stream of the Mental Health Program.
About the Role
Your next role is offering you a blend of important and rewarding responsibilities. Firstly, we look to you to carry out direct therapeutic work with clients. This is a psychology specific role which will enable you to support clients providing brief and longer psychological treatment. Your clients will require assessment and intervention for conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma-related difficulties, and personality disorder. This job gives you the scope to work with them in an ongoing manner, consistently supporting their improvement towards achieving their goals and living a better life. The role is part of a multidisciplinary team and the psychologist is an integral part of this team providing primary and secondary consultation and education with regard to client presentations. In addition, this is a position offering the rewards of leading others.
