Best Start Clinic is a leading child and family allied health service, providing multi-disciplinary and evidence-based practices in the area of psychology, speech pathology and occupational therapy. A core aspect of our service is best-practice autism early intervention through our clinic in Brighton and dedicated world-class early intervention therapy centre in Sandringham. A unique opportunity exists for a passionate psychologist to join our team, supporting children, young people and their families.
In the area of psychology, we assist our clients through the provision of:
- Counselling, for primarily primary school-aged children and their parents
- Assessment, including cognitive, learning, and diagnostic assessments
- Multi-disciplinary case consultation
- Behaviour support and ASD services
As a part of the Best Start team, our new psychologist will receive:
- Ongoing supervision and professional development opportunities
- A range of psychology practice areas, as well as a diverse case load
- Collaborative support and case consultation within a multi-disciplinary team

Essential Criteria
- Registration with AHPRA
- Eligibility for registration as a Medicare provider
- WWCC
- Experience in early intervention with young children with autism
- Commitment to undertaking training in the Early Start Denver Model
- Experience in administering cognitive assessments
- Experience counselling children
Desirable criteria
- Experience in behaviour management and Applied Behaviour Analysis
- Experience in educational assessments
- Prior experience in the ESDM
- Prior experience in the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders and ADHD, or commitment to undertaking training in these areas, such as the ADOS
- Prior experience in school consultation
- Experience working with parents and family units
