Senior Mental Health Clinician

  • Well supported dynamic and challenging practice environments
  • Six weeks annual leave with ability to request rosters
  • Three work locations with flexible work environments
  • Sunshine ED currently being redeveloped to include crisis hub and behavior assessment unit
  • Position supporting Emergency Mental Health (EMH), Pevention & Recovery Centre (PARC) & MHaP
  • Part Time ongoing 40 hours per fortnight - Rostered position

A Job to Be Proud Of:

  • Develop mental health treatment, management and risk assessment plans within the ED/PARC/MHaP and organise ongoing assistance before the client is discharged
  • Facilitate and encourage continuity of care processes between adult psychiatric inpatient/community, youth, aged care services the emergency department, PARC and Police
  • Provide ongoing assessment, psychosocial interventions for clients
  • Collaboratively provide education regarding the management of medication
  • Provide an enhanced Police and Area Mental Health Service capability to respond to incidents

Your Contribution:

  • Be appropriately qualified and experienced in your discipline with significant post graduate experience
  • Extensive experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of severe mental illness and psychiatric disability
  • Experience in providing clinical supervision, and in developing others’ supervision skills
  • Demonstrated ability to support the development of clinical staff
  • Well-developed skills in writing and an ability to prepare relevant documentation
  • Capacity to undertake alcohol and other drug screening, assessment, treatment planning, brief interventions with clients who have co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
