Psychologist - Adult Mental Health

About Monash Health

Monash Health is Victoria's largest public health service. We are proud to provide healthcare to one quarter of Melbourne's population, across the entire life span from newborn and children, to adults, the elderly, their family and carers.

About the Role

Monash Mental Health Program is strengthening its front end services. This increased capacity means shorter wait times to access treatment for people seeking help, continuity of care and improved therapeutic care at their first interaction with our mental health services.

By partnering with our emergency points of contact, aPM offers people personalised therapeutic interventions at the time they are help seeking.

To do this we need a smart and experienced psychologist to join our dynamic team located in Clayton. Grade 3 psychologists will need to have clinical or forensic endorsements and Grade 2 psychologists will have had relevant clinical experience post-graduation.

As our clients have a range of backgrounds, therapy goals and needs, you will need to employ a flexible and collaborative therapeutic approach with each client. Client-and-therapist-rated outcome measures are routinely used to monitor and modulate treatment. These outcome measures consistently demonstrate improvement for our clients and are a key part of the ethos of the aPM clinics.

Psychology and Specialist Services at Monash Health offers regular professional supervision, peer support and the opportunity for career development to all of our 180 psychologists. We have Australia's first Psychology Registrar and Graduate Education Program to support our early career psychologist and we support senior psychologists to maintain PsyBA supervisor status. Additional benefits include salary packaging, 5 weeks annual leave (pro-rata), and paid professional development leave.

The position is full time but part time applicants will be considered (minimum 3 days per week). Please indicate in your application if you are interested in the role full time or part time.

What's in it for you?

You will be part of a dynamic, changing environment that will have future growth. You will have access to a range of corporate benefits including salary packing options that can significantly increase your take home pay, and access to staff car parking.

How to Apply

Monash Health recognises the value of equal employment opportunity and is committed to patient safety and to promoting fairness, equity, and diversity in the workplace. At Monash Health we are relentless in our pursuits of excellence and work to our six guiding principles.

Preferred candidates will require a clear Police Check and a current Employee Working with Children Check prior to any offer of employment being made.

As part of our selection process you may be invited by email to participate in an on-camera video interview.

Please note: Applications will only be accepted via the Monash Health online Mercury System. Email applications will not be considered.
