Dual Diagnosis Psychologist – Brisbane Youth Service
Are you a generally registered
psychologist, and interested in working with young people? Since 2011, Brisbane
Youth Service has been providing a free and confidential counselling service
for young people, aged 12-25 years, based upon the frameworks of the recovery
orientation, strengths-based principles, social justice and harm
minimisation. This is fully established
counselling program, and because we pay your wage, you will not need to rely on
the Mental Health Care Plan Medicare system.
You will receive professional supervision from an endorsed Health
Psychologist, who has 25 years of experience.
If this is of interest to you, then
Brisbane Youth Service has an opportunity for a Psychologist to become part of
the Health team, providing direct one-to-one counselling with vulnerable young
people, as well as work with a team of allied health professionals including
social workers and youth workers. This
role will be located in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, close to public transport
and street parking options.
Youth Service (BYS) was formally constituted in 1976 and commenced operation in
February 1977. We support homeless and disadvantaged
young people (aged 12-25 years) and their children, to secure and maintain
housing. We provide emergency support and a range of services to assist
young people to address physical and mental health issues, establish successful
relationships & support networks and access pathways to education and long term employment.
