Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services. We provide a range of emergency, surgical, medical and general healthcare services, including maternity, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care, community health and statewide specialist services to people and communities that are diverse in culture, age, socio-economic status, population and healthcare needs.
The Eastern Health PARC Program is an initiative to expand support and treatment options within mental health services. The service is jointly run by the Eastern Health Adult Mental Health Service (EHAMHS) and MIND (Community Mental Health Services).
Linwood PARC is a 8 bed residential facility based in Box Hill whilst Maroondah PARC is a 10 bed residential facility based in East Ringwood. Both have 24 hour staffing. The purpose of the facilities is to provide short term intensive residential recovery care. The target group to be served will be adults requiring more support following an inpatient admission prior to returning home or those who are at risk of relapse where participation in the PARC program could prevent relapse from occurring. The team will provide individualised treatment to consumers, assisting them with the support required to prevent further deterioration of their illness and assist in their recovery. The units employ a highly collaborative service model, working with other parts of the service system and family and carers to support the consumers in meeting their goals.
We are seeking 2.4 EFT of dynamic Mental Health Senior Clinicians with experience working within a highly demanding, high consumer turnover service. The EFT will located between Linwood PARC (Box Hill); and Maroondah PARC (Ringwood). The applicants need to be highly motivated and innovative, can work autonomously and collaboratively within a small multidisciplinary team. Able to undertake assessment of consumer’s function and implement targeted recovery plans in collaboration with MIND staff. These are additional Senior Clinical roles across our PARCs and will provide the opportunity to develop and expand our current services.
The Senior Clinician will form part of the leadership group within the PARC and provide a senior clinical role within each PARC. The position acts as a key leader of the ongoing implementation of the Collaborative Recovery Model supporting staff to work with consumers collaboratively and respond to their needs in a recovery orientated way. They will act as a role model and mentor for staff in promoting professional values and ethics in clinical practice and influence others to adopt high standards of ethical and legal conduct, which is modelled in own actions and decisions. Another vital aspect of the role is to actively lead the clinical service delivery, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team including our partners from MIND to consider clinical quality and risk, service performance and care standards, leading to successful community integration and improved quality of life outcomes for consumers.
The position works in collaboration with the Consultant Psychiatrist, Stream Leader, and Manager, AMHS Rehabilitation Services to enhance the profile of the PARC program across the EHAMHS and provide professional leadership, ensuring high quality clinical standards, quality improvement and ongoing development of the Rehabilitation Service in line with the PARC and the Mental Health Program strategic directions. With the support of the relevant professional Director/Program Senior, the position ensures that professional standards, codes and behaviours that are legislated and Eastern Health standards, policies and guidelines are upheld.
Our mental health rehabilitation services’ vision is to provide culturally sensitive, holistic and wellness focused services that promotes, values and respects the dignity and lived experience of individuals facing mental health challenges.
