Child Psychologist (Contractor)

ABOUT US:

The Sydney Cognitive Development Centre is a private practice in Bondi Junction (in the eastern suburbs of Sydney). This centre has been running for 13 years and has a large patient base from all over Australia as well as internationally. It is a multi-disciplinary centre, with a diverse team, including 4 neuropsychologists, 3 psychologists, orthopist, speech therapist, cognitive trainers, and a team of neurotechnicians. We treat children and adults with a wide variety of presentations, however are best well known for assessing and treating neurocognitive disorders.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for psychologists/clinical psychologists who have had experience in treating children and adolescents with emotional issues. These include mainly anxiety, depression, anger, low self-esteem, oppositional behaviour, behavioural issues, and poor social skills. 

Applicants who are able to work on Saturdays will be looked upon favourably as this is our busiest day. Other days available include Monday and Thursday.

This role will involve working within our team, closely with our other practitioners.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • CBT & (at least basic) ACT skills 
  • Parenting & family therapy skills
  • Social skills training
  • Full registration with APHRA as a psychologist
  • Eligibility to apply for Medicare
  • Working with Children Check
  • Strong clinical and interpersonal skills

 

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:  

  • Experience with children with ADHD & ASD
  • Experience administering the ADOS

 

SALARY: 

Salary will be dependent on level of experience. This is a contractor position so the more hours you want to work, the more you will earn. Salary is from $110 per hour.
