Successful applicants will be responsible for all aspects of providing therapy to their own client load. They will also enjoy the support of similarly focussed colleagues, including our support staff and clinical director, and the security of working for an established practice with a strong referral base and good reputation. We are looking for applicants who are enthusiastic, able to work autonomously, and who enjoy being part of a supportive team.
Hours: Saturdays and/or Sundays and evenings, at a negotiable times, starting soon.
- an appropriate post-graduate degree in Psychology (essential, meaning Masters, DPsych or PhD(Clin.Psych)
- full (unconditional) registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
- eligibility for registration with Medicare to provide focussed psychological strategies or clinical psychology services.
Renumeration: Casual rate of $69.45 per hour for clinical psychologist (who can reasonably expect to earn $110K p/annum at this rate if they were full time and taking 4 weeks holidays and PD), or 55.68 per hour for psychologist (who can reasonably expect to earn $80K p/annum at this rate if they were full time and taking 4 weeks holidays and PD) or paid at a rate of 1.5 hours per 55 minute client session regardless of whether the clients turn up. So for three 55 minute client sessions you'd be paid for 4.5 hours, plus superannuation guarantee.
Public Liability insurance is provided, and you'll be paid for attendance at staff meetings, as well as provided with some supervision and contributions towards your professional development.
As a contribution to public mental health, Clinical Psychologists bulk bill about a third of their clients, but are still paid at their normal rate.
