Come work with us!
At Birch Psychology we offer a point of difference. We take the time to work with and offer tailored support to each of our psychologists to ensure they continue to enjoy their practice, and take it in the direction they desire. We have created a great fit between all members of the team, including our administrative staff, so we hope that you, too, will love the dynamic group of people we work with.
And we offer generous remuneration. Because we want you to stay a while.
We have contractor positions available at both our clinics: our Alphington clinic nestled in the parklands between Northcote and Ivanhoe, and the vibrant and eclectic St Georges Rd in Fitzroy North. Both our clinics are beautifully appointed with natural light, offering a warm and welcoming work space.
We can offer flexibility in available days, including evening and weekend sessions which are increasingly sought by our clients. We appreciate it if some after hours sessions are offered in order to best meet the needs of our clients.
We are a fun-loving, hard-working, committed bunch of practitioners who care about the people we work with as much as the clients we support. Our psychologists’ interest areas are many and varied, and we share our experience in oncology, perinatal, trauma, eating disorders, neurodiversity, health psychology, adolescent mental health and couples therapy, to name a few.
We would love to add to these skill sets, as well as welcome other areas of interest to our team. In particular, we are hoping to expand our capacity to offer couples therapy, neurodiversity assessment and ongoing support, therapy for our trans and gender diverse community and EMDR. But we're curious to hear about your interest areas so we can offer those to our clients too.
To provide the greatest flexibility to our clients, psychologists with the capacity to work with us at least two days per week are preferred.
Clients we help may come with life adjustment difficulties or with a more debilitating mental health problem. Our clients have come to expect Birch psychologists will meet their struggles with compassion, understanding and a willingness to collaborate to help them overcome their problems.
We have established relationships with medical practitioners, networks of other health professionals and an excellent community reputation. This means that we have referrals ready to share, and will introduce and market you to our referral network. We also encourage and support all our psychologists to build their own referral relationships.
Our psychologists are independent contractors, with all the flexibility and independence that brings. We offer competitive remuneration, and flexibility in setting hours and case loads. But we know that private work can be isolating, so we offer plenty of clinical support, and will assist you to promote your areas of interest.
We have created a practice we also love working in. We are approachable, understanding and dedicated to providing the environment you need to enjoy your work. We have a committed and energetic team who are dedicated to their profession, and are crucial to the Birch Psychology culture and our reputation amongst clients and referrers.
Birch offers administrative support, with an admin team who are professional and friendly. Our admin team are expert at working with all our psychologists to help them with their administrative needs. They are also wonderful at ensuring our clients feel comfortable and cared for when they reach out to Birch, so you know that your clients are always being looked after.
