$4094.90 - $4406.40 per fortnight


The Role

An opportunity has become available for two Clinical Neuropsychologists or Clinical Psychologists – Senior (Paediatric) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10,000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to over 550,000 people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.


You will take responsibility for

Ensuring the use of high level knowledge and clinical skill in utilising evidence based psychological assessment and treatment interventions

Utilising clinical judgement with minimum supervision, such as the selection of appropriate and advanced level psychometric tests and preparation of psychological reports and treatment recommendations

Contributing a high level of psychological perspective to team meetings, clinical reviews and implement team decisions

Participating in the design, implementation and evaluation of group programs for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder that is evidence based and promote enhanced service delivery and improved consumer outcomes

Providing clinical supervision to psychologists/neuropsychologists on placement from post graduate clinical training programs and other provisionally registered psychologists as required


Requirements for the role

It is a condition of employment in this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough) and hepatitis B

Qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Appointment to this position requires proof of a formal qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology and/or Clinical Psychology obtained through an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) approved program in Clinical Neuropsychology or Clinical Psychology

Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology and/or Clinical Psychology

Approval by the Psychology Board of Australia to supervise post-graduate students in psychology and psychologists completing the Psychology Board of Australia - Registrar Program.  While not mandatory, membership or eligibility for membership of the Australian Psychological Society would be well regarded

While not mandatory, appointment or eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be well regarded

Salary information

Temporary full time (two positions, up to May 2020 with the possibility of extension)

Base salary ranging from $4094.90 - $4406.40 per fortnight

Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution

17.5% leave loading

About the Child Development Service

The Child Development Service is based at the Southport Health Precinct and supports the entire Gold Coast Hospital Health Service. This service focuses on children with developmental and behaviour problems. This service liaises with multiple community services and agencies, including Education Queensland, Disability Services as well as non-government providers and private practitioners.
