About the Institute of Neuroscience (ISN):
At its ‘psychology-only’ campus, in the heart of the prestigious Heidelberg Medical Precinct, the Institute of Neuroscience (ISN) offers an APAC approved undergraduate (Hons) in psychology and a Masters in Clinical Psychology. The Psychology Clinic is a newly built, state of the art building complete with advanced technology and testing materials. Located onsite at ISN in Heidelberg, the Psychology Clinic has been designed to provide a high quality teaching and training experience to Masters of Clinical Psychology students in their delivery of evidenced based assessment and treatment to their clients.
About the role:
We are currently recruiting for a coordinator of the psychology clinic who will provide onsite high quality teaching and training experience for Masters of Clinical Psychology students their first clinical placement.
The position is well suited to a Senior Clinical Psychologist with endorsement and full registration as a supervisor with APHRA and with the capacity to supervise higher degree students in the Clinical Masters program. Familiarity with training and psychometric testing protocols in a Clinical Master’s program is sought.
The role primarily includes providing onsite support to students in the teaching clinic, enrolled the first placement of the Master of Clinical Psychology Program.
ancillary support to students between sessions
providing input on the structure and operation of the clinic
development of policy and procedures
cross scoring of clinical tests administered by students in the Master’s Program
marking of student case studies
We are currently recruiting for an immediate start of an initial 6 month contract, with the potential of ongoing renewal. The role has been designed as a full time position, however 0.8 EFT will be considered. Applications from those with more than 3 years’ experience who are in a position to pursue registration as a supervisor will also be considered.
The role requires some travel between the clinic in Ivanhoe and a Northcote practice. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
- greater than 3 years experience across multiple clinical settings
- training, knowledge and experience in providing clinical psychology treatment interventions in clinical settings
- capacity to provide support and feedback to students undertaking their first professional practice placement
- ability to assess and respond to risk, and facilitate an appropriate intervention
- ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
