EasternMelbourne PHN (EMPHN) is looking for a Mental Health Clinician to join our Referraland Access team. The team assesses and triages referrals for consumers presenting with risk and complexity, ensuring they are allocated to the most appropriate mental health service to best support their presenting needs. This is an integral role in the effective and timely care of people in the community with a range of mental health issues and complex needs.
The person we are looking for
The successful applicant will have:
· a current qualification as a Mental Health Professional (Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, and/or Occupational Therapy); National and state registration in the relevant discipline (where applicable); Mental Health accreditation by associated professional body is desirable;
· strong assessment skills to inform the subsequent allocation of the client to the most clinically appropriate service with the ability to provide clinical assessment and expertise in relation to more complex referrals;
· fantastic communication skills with the knowledge and ability to collaborate with other service system stakeholders such as Crisis & Assessment Teams, Accident and Emergency Departments, GP’s, Support Facilitators, Mental Health Nurses and other community based clinicians, and organisations;
· a solution-focused approach, being flexible and responsive to the needs of our clients, colleagues and external stakeholders.
EMPHN is one of the major commissioners of federally-funded health care services in Melbourne, with responsibility for improving the primary health care system. We do this by facilitating health system improvements for people in the eastern and north eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
A maximum term contract to 30 June 2020 will be offered to the successful candidate.
