arbias provides services for people with an acquired brain injury (ABI), including alcohol and other substance related brain injury The arbiasNeuropsychological Assessmentand Intervention Service (NPAIS) is currently looking to fill a vacancy at .8EFT (4days).
NPAIS offers a comprehensive neuropsychological assessment and diagnostic service. We have special expertise in alcohol and substance related brain injury, in addition supporting many people with other causes of ABI. The client mix is diverse and often challenging with a high incidence of TBI, alcohol or substance abuse,homelessness issues, challenging cognitive and behavioural problems and mental illness; assessment services are also provided in prison.
We complete a significant number of decision making capacity assessments for the VictorianGuardianship List and medico-legal assessments for clients involved in the criminal justice system.
A key aim of NPAIS, from a management and client support perspective, is to provide opportunities for neuropsychologists to extend themselves beyond a purely assessment and report writing role. Neuropsychologists work collaboratively with arbias Case Management and Community Programs staff. Neuropsychologists are encouraged to become involved in facilitating training if that is a personal professional interest and development and provision of neuropsychological intervention services.
§ Operates on a strong HR framework
§ Applies person centred practice as the foundation of its service delivery
§ Has an in house team of four neuropsychologists
§ Offers attractive remuneration package and benefits of salary packaging (NB arbias employees are able to salary package up to $30,000- the effect is significantly more non taxed income than Public Sector Hospital system)
§ A post-graduatedegree in Clinical Neuropsychology
§ Current registrationas a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia
§ Endorsement as aNeuropsychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) or actively working towards endorsement
§ Interest and experience in Forensic aspects of Assessment
Neuropsychology registrars working towards endorsement who hold relevant clinical experience would also be considered for this position.
