The University of Melbourne Counselling and Psychological Services (CAPS) invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified clinical and counselling psychologists or mental health social workers to be on our register for locum counselling employment.
CAPS provides a range of psychological services to students and staff of the University in a team of around 30 counsellors.
Locum counsellors are generally engaged for three or two days per week for the duration of one or two academic semesters to help cover periods of peak appointment demand (e.g. February to June, and/or July to December). Fridays are a required work day, other days are by negotiation. In house supervision, attendance to counselling case discussion meetings and regular professional development opportunities are included in the role.
We are currently in the process of developing a register of interested and qualified counsellors to whom work may be offered as opportunities arise for the second half of 2019 and the start of 2020.
