As part of the multidisciplinary team of the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) Older Persons Mental Health Service, you will be responsible for providing a range of clinical neuropsychology services for older adults with complex disorders. These services will be provided in an accessible manner which are responsive to the needs of the individual, promoting consumers’ and carers’ understanding of their rights and access to advocacy systems where appropriate. You will work closely with other relevant organisations and health professionals in the pursuit of optimal consumer outcomes, and contribute to research pertinent to improvement in standards of clinical service delivery and issues relevant to mental health as required.
The focus of the Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS) in South Australia is to support older people to maximise their mental health. This is achieved through working with the community, ageing and primary health care sectors to prevent or reduce the incidence and/or escalation of mental health issues.
You will need to hold an appropriate Degree (Masters in Neuropsychology) or an equivalent qualification, and have general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia. Demonstrating experience in the application of a range of neuropsychological assessment and intervention strategies, you will have worked before in a multidisciplinary team environment in health, mental health or aged care. Capable of providing innovative solutions to clients with complex needs, you will be able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with consumers and carers in a socially and culturally relevant manner.
