Essendon private practice opportunity

Junction Health is a thriving private practice in Essendon and is looking for a clinical psychologist to join this friendly and growing practice.

We are interested in individuals who are warm, able to work autonomously and who are enthusiastic about therapeutic practice and process working primarily with adults and older adolescents. Psychologists with experience in couples therapy are particularly encouraged to apply.

The position currently on offer is a contract position. We are interested in meeting with applicants who are available to see clients at least one day or two half days per week. We encourage applicants with a strong process and relationship focused approach with solid experience in evidence based practice.

Successful applicants will benefit from our well-established and consistent referral base, and be offered mentoring and support to help them thrive within the private practice setting.

Essential Criteria

o   Full registration as a psychologist with APHRA with clinical endorsement

o   Eligible to register to provide psychological services through Medicare and private health providers

o   Currently have, or willing and eligible to obtain, an ABN

o   Strong focus and personal philosophy around client-therapist relationship

o   Possess a warm, friendly, and professional therapeutic style

o   Experienced and skilled in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of mental health disorders

o   Able to work independently and autonomously

o   Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and formal peer or individual supervision 

o   High-level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

o   Ability to complete written reports (e.g., Medicare MHCP reports and GP letters)

o   Exceptional time-management and organisational skills, with commitment to timely reporting to referrers

o   Ability and willingness to handle some administrative duties, including taking client payments and using practice management software


  • A specific area of interest or training of therapeutic work
  • Experience in working with couples and/or adolescents
  • Previous private practice experience
