About the Roles
Two Counsellor vacancies are available in our Early Intervention Services (EIS) Program, operating from RACR Wagga Wagga office.
Counsellor, Wagga Wagga (Position Ref: RACR17EISC3)
Reporting to the EIS Program Manager, the Counsellor is expected to provide therapeutic services in the form of counselling to couples, individuals, children and young people and families who are seeking improved relationships, or resolution of relationship difficulties. This position may also have the opportunity to work alongside the post-separation team in supporting parents who are mediating over parenting arrangements for children, through Child Informed Practice and pre-mediation coaching. Counsellor, Rural Outreach (Position Ref: RACR17EISC4)
Reporting to the EIS Program Manager, the Rural Outreach Counsellor position is expected to provide counselling services, community education/development, and case management activities to families, individuals, couples and communities in rural locations within a 200km radius of RACR’s Wagga Wagga office. This service aims to engage with rural communities and provide services that meet community and family needs, to enable building of respectful and supportive relationships. Applicants who are interested in full-time employment and willing to travel are encouraged to apply.
To be successful in both roles, you are required to possess an appropriate tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, counselling, or other relevant field, an understanding of broad theoretical approach to relationship counselling, family therapy, practice frameworks applicable to family violence, trauma informed child inclusive practice, crisis intervention models, grief and loss. The successful applicant needs to have demonstrated experience in delivering relationship counselling, couples and family therapy and counselling to children and young people, therapeutic group work and educative programs, and ability to work sensitively with vulnerable and diverse communities. We encourage those who have strong clinical skills and a desire to work in the above areas to apply, even if you don’t believe you can fulfill all of the above criteria.
Salary & Benefits
The salary on offer is in the range of $74,933.07 to $79,841.62 per annum for full-time plus superannuation. As a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI), RACR employees also receive tax-effective salary packaging opportunities, thus significantly increasing the value of your take-home pay.
According to the RACR Enterprise Agreement, the successful candidate will have access to generous leave provisions, annual leave loading, special paid leave during annual holiday shutdown period and flexible working arrangements.
