The Child and Adolescent Development Service (CAADS) is a multidisciplinary practice committed to supporting the wellbeing of young people and their families. We provide quality assessment and proven interventions, across psychology, speech pathology and occupational therapy, to assist clients to understand and manage a wide range of concerns. We offer a comfortable work environment with a friendly professional team, full reception support and ongoing client referrals.

We are looking for an experienced psychologist with a minimum of two years’ experience providing intervention to younger children, particularly children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental concerns. There will be opportunity to work with older children and adolescents, for those with broader experience. The position is for two days per week, with potential to build hours in accordance with service demand. Postgraduate qualifications in educational and/or developmental psychology would be welcomed, as would previous private practice experience.

The successful applicant will require full registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and eligibility for a Medicare Provide Number.  Professional Indemnity Insurance and Public Liability Insurance are essential. An Australian Business Number (ABN) or willingness to obtain an ABN is also necessary. Suitable applicants with ability for immediate start will be preferred.

Major tasks and responsibilities:

·         Providing evidence based intervention tailored to the needs of the client

·         Preparation of reports and other written communication

·         Liaison with referrers and other relevant professionals

·         Enthusiasm, reliability and a keen interest in helping others

·         Good capacity to engage and quickly build rapport with young clients and their carers

·         High level critical thinking skills and ability for complex case conceptualisation

·         Excellent spoken and written communication skills

·         Capacity to work independently and as part of a team

·         Good case management and time management skills
